      Pearl Harbor

Pearl Harbor is one of our first points of interest on this tour and symbolizes significant historical events. It's most recognized as the site of the 1941 attack that pulled the United States into World War II. Today, it is a place of remembrance, housing the USS Arizona Memorial, the Pacific Aviation Museum, and the Battleship Missouri Memorial. However, beyond its historical significance, Pearl Harbor is also a thriving naval base. The deep-blue waters of the harbor, surrounded by lush green mountains, present a unique blend of history and natural beauty.

      Diamond Head

Diamond Head stands majestically at the eastern edge of Waikīkī's coastline, and this dormant volcano is a classic emblem of O'ahu's natural beauty. It's not merely its grandeur that captivates; the site holds a significant geological and historical allure. Diamond Head is a testament to O'ahu's volcanic origins, formed thousands of years ago during a brief eruption. Flying over the crater rewards you with a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and Honolulu that is simply unforgettable.

      The North Shore

As part of our aerial journey, we'll fly over O'ahu's North Shore, an area famous for its world-class surfing. Its powerful, untamed waves attract surfers worldwide, especially during the winter months when the swells are at their peak. But beyond its legendary waves, the North Shore is also rich in natural beauty and traditional Hawaiian culture. From the scenic Waimea Valley, with its botanical gardens and picturesque waterfall, to the historic town of Haleʻiwa, known for its local eateries and charming art galleries, the North Shore offers an authentic Hawaiian experience. The aerial view of this spectacular coastline, with its miles of pristine beaches and emerald waters, is a sight to behold.

      Explanation

If you choose to leave from Honolulu, arrive 20 - 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time at the Honolulu Airport to check in for your tour. Immediately after departure from the airport, you can see unobstructed aerial views of Honolulu, which has bustling streets and highrises. Following the pristine coast of Waikīkī, your pilot will take you over Diamond Head, the famous crater that overlooks the city.

If you want to leave from Turtle Bay Resort, we'll start off flying over the North Shore. Enjoy the changing scenery of the coast as you explore the untamed jungle and waterfalls that make this region so unique. Circling O'ahu’s North Shore will allow you and your fellow guests to catch glimpses of surfers in colorful wetsuits catching waves in one of the world’s most famous surf breaks. Cutting through the center of the island will take you to Wai'anae and the island's leeward coast before heading to Pearl Harbor to take in views of the battleships and the stark white Arizona Memorial.

      Frequently Asked Questions

      • How Close To The Ground Can We Get?

While our tour offers an exhilarating bird's eye view of Oahu, safety is our top priority. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has established altitude restrictions for helicopter tours to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. We are allowed to fly at an altitude as low as 500 feet, offering you a unique vantage point to appreciate Oahu's extraordinary landscapes.
      • Will This Tour Trigger Motion Sickness?

We take utmost care to ensure that our flights are as smooth as possible with slow and gentle turns, keeping in mind that this is a scenic tour rather than a thrill ride. Motion sickness varies with the individual, but the majority of our guests do not experience it during the tour. However, if you're known to experience motion sickness, it's always a good idea to take precautionary measures like over-the-counter anti-motion sickness medication.
      • What Should I Wear?

When preparing for a helicopter tour, comfort and safety are paramount. It's advisable to dress in layers as the weather can change from the ground to the air. A light jacket may be useful if it gets chilly. Wear closed-toe shoes for safety, and avoid loose clothing or accessories that can be hazardous in a helicopter's moving environment. Sunglasses are recommended to reduce glare from the sun, enhancing your visibility and overall enjoyment of the scenic views. Lastly, while it can be tempting to wear a hat, it's best to leave it behind as it could potentially be blown away by the rotor wash.
