You’ll be amazed at the beauty of the landscape from the air.
Honokōhau is a historical park is home to a variety of habitats that were used by the first Hawaiians. Honokōhau is also an excellent place to see sea turtles. These creatures are very common in the park and can often be seen basking in the sun on the sandy shores. And check out Keauhou Bay. It is the birthplace of King Kamehameha III (born in 1814). Your Southbound trip won’t be complete without a flyover of Captain Cook’s monument. Hear the story of Cook’s heralded arrival, and his ultimate demise.
Going Northbound, you will fly over the stunning white sand beach at Kua Bay. Called Manini’owali Beach, this has been called one of the most beautiful beaches in the world! This secluded and small white sand beach at Kua Bay, is just north of Kona. Fly all the way up to Kawaihae – a small port town along the Big Island of Hawaii’s northwestern Kohala Coast. During the 19th century, Kawaihae was a busy whaling and trading port. This port was also the place where the ship that brought the first horses and cattle to Hawaii docked.
Whichever direction you choose, the views are guaranteed to be spectacular!

This is YOUR tour, so you choose the route. Your local pilot is well-versed in the history (real and legendary) of the region, and you will enjoy the narrative as you learn about the Port of Kawaihae. During the 19th century, this was busy whaling and trading port where the ship that brought the first horses and cattle to Hawaii docked. Going South, you must hear the story of the famous (and infamous) arrival of Captain Cook in 1779. The native Hawaiians welcomed the Captain and his crew with open arms, believing them to be returning gods. However, a month later, the locals realized he was a mere mortal, and he was executed. There are so many fascinating stories, you may have to come back twice!
Every seat is a window seat, so you will have perfect views for picture-taking. If your group is all over the age of 12, choose the doors-off option for a floor-to-ceiling unobstructed view. The live (and lively) commentary by your guide/pilot will keep you entertained and informed as you fly over one amazing sight after another. This tour is only 30 minutes, so you can easily fit it into your visit no matter what else you have planned.
